In a post on Reddit, the tech professional questioned their decision, asking, “Am I making a mistake?” They explained, “I’ve worked in northern Europe for the past five years, earning around Rs 80 lakh CTC. Now, I’ve got a job offer in Bengaluru with a salary of Rs 50 lakh CTC. I’m thinking of accepting it because I feel India offers better purchasing power and larger market opportunities. But my family is urging me not to move, worried about the lower quality of life in India. What’s your opinion?”

One commenter remarked, “If you’re ready to give up job security and embrace a toxic work culture, then move to India. In the EU, labor laws make layoffs difficult. In India, companies are laying off employees left, right, and center. Unless you have strong family reasons, there’s no compelling reason to return.”
